For sure, it’s easy to say and summaries the challenge as I have,  ‘transform a jungle-clad mountain into a home and...’  but having spent a month getting to know this wild place, it’s clear the skills needed and perhaps resources, are much more than we have. Looking Back / Going Forward

Twenty-seven years ago,  escaping the mayhem of life in New York, I found my way to a remote coastal region of Venezuela.

Venezuela 1997: Channelling Robinson

Penniless, but positive I needed a change, I found a suitable tropical perch, an isolated jungle cove overlooking the ocean. I stayed there alone, in a ramshackle hut, not dissimilar to my Bali base camp. Armed with the same machete as I carry now, a fist full of pencils, a journal and not much else.
