I have never been more sure of anything in my life.
The realisation that the search was over, came down to an instantaneous undeniable moment: waking up to the sound of the forest with this view…
I had come to the hills to stay at Sarinbuana Eco Lodge.
I have tried to describe how beautiful this place is before: Simple put, its the place to stay around here, the perfect foil to the bustle of the coast. (google view at bottom of page):
It is only through the help of Norm and Linda vant Hoff the creators of the Eco-Lodge that we have been able to find our way here. It simply would not have been possible without their warm welcome into the community and enormous generosity. It is through Norms’ lifetime of experience, help, and kind guidance that we have found a farming family looking to lease their land.
At every step Norm and his extraordinary family have been there for us… and we feel extremely grateful to have found them.
‘Without someone to share it with Paradise remains just a beautiful place that leaves you feeling lonely’. Lucky then that we have stumbled upon such an amazing group of new friends here in the hills. This picture, and what it represents, means the world to Denise and I.

“I can give no better compliment than to say, of all the places I have visited across the years… This place truly feels like home. One of the most beautiful, calm, and relaxing Eco-minded hideaways I have ever found. Its creation has clearly been a labour of love one extremely well-considered…The lodges environmental credentials aren’t just for show, the ethos of minimal impact and sustainability underpins all that is on offer… even the food! With lush tropical walkways carved into the mountainside and tree houses perched high to afford views of the surrounding valley I instantly wanted to move in PERMANENTLY! Sounds bit gushy right!… I’m not joking, I love this place. Not least of all because its run (and has been built by) an amazing duo Norm and Linda. So in summary, It is an absolute hidden gem away from the madness and mayhem of the coast. If you are looking for a haven where nature is the main event, birdsong and windswept ferns the chorus… look no further. BOOK NOW… Oh and say Hi to Norm and Linda for me, they are fantastically inspiring, as is what they have achieved here”
